Fiona studied Linguistics at the University of Edinburgh, gaining a first-class MA (Hons) degree in 1987. She then worked in corporate hospitality and travelled extensively before undertaking the post- graduate certificate in Law at Huddersfield Polytechnic in 1991-2 and the Law Society Finals at the College of Law in York in 1993. She trained at Cook Fowler & Outhet Solicitors in Scarborough, qualifying in 1995.
Since qualifying, Fiona has specialised in wills, estate administration, powers of attorney, trusts, inheritance tax planning, long term care needs and Court of Protection applications.
Fiona has managed and run the Private Client department at Tubbs & Co since 2007 with the valued assistance of Jenny Harper.
Fiona is also a qualified Notary Public. This means that she is able to authenticate documents for use abroad such as powers of attorney to buy and sell property abroad, affidavits of consent to travel for minors and certificates of non-impediment for marriages abroad. Outside work, Fiona has a wide variety of interests including cycling, sailing, skiing and walking with her family and their black lab, Bramble. She also enjoys growing veg on her allotment, and cooking and eating the fruits of her labours.
After a brief career as a professional cricketer Ian worked in recruitment advertising for several years before returning to University and Law School to retrain as a Solicitor.
Ian joined Tubbs & Co in 2007 and specialises in Residential and Commercial Property.
In his spare time Ian enjoys playing golf and taking his beloved dogs Zack and Wilson on long rambling walks.
